As you know, the NHWBA has been outspoken in its advocacy for the implementation of Proposed Rule of Professional Conduct 8.4(g), and the NHWBA strongly supported the most recent iteration of that Proposed Rule’s language pending before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. During the hearing on April 12, 2019, NHWBA members bravely shared their experiences in person and in writing. The NHWBA also submitted written comments to the Court, which you can view here.
Now, your voices are needed once again. Today, the New Hampshire Supreme Court issued an Order, proposing the adoption of another version of the Proposed Rule and an amendment to current Rule of Professional Conduct 4.4(a). The Court’s Order may be reviewed here. The NHWBA is still analyzing the proposed language, but it appears to fall short of an adequate solution to the endemic issue of harassment and discrimination in our profession. The NHWBA will be submitting comments to the Court on the latest iteration of Rules 8.4(g) and 4.4. Harassment and discrimination are barriers in our profession that we must lead the way in removing. Please join us in doing the same before the May 31st deadline.
To submit comments, file with the clerk of the Court or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
If you have any questions about the NHWBA’s position or about submitting written comments to the Court, please do not hesitate to contact Christina A. Ferrari, NHWBA President, who may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (603) 665-8827.
